Mercato – Real Madrid: the revelation of Florentino Pérez on Erling Haaland:
The Real Madrid president likes to play with the media and has once again made a statement that will cause quite a stir.
Florentino Pérez shows the muscles. Since Monday evening and the coronation of a new Real Madrid player for the Ballon d'Or, in the person of Karim Benzema, the president of Real Madrid is in heaven. After all, he has no reason not to be. All is well in the best of all worlds at Real Madrid, who are leaders in La Liga and first in their group in the Champions League.
Perez is jubilant:
What's more, many individuals shine at Real Madrid, such as Tchouaméni, recruited this summer, or the two Brazilian nuggets, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, who are progressing year after year. However, last summer, Florentino Pérez missed his two priority targets, Kylian Mbappé who remained at PSG and Erling Haaland transferred to Manchester City.
The Norwegian phenom joined Manchester City in the summer for a fee of €63m after his release clause from Borussia Dortmund was activated. He has since been linked with a move to La Liga due to an exclusive clause held by Madrid. Asked about Haaland's release clause, the communication-savvy Florentino Pérez replied: "I have no idea. We already have the best players."
Haaland splashes the world with his talent:
This a way for the president of Real Madrid to deny without completely denying the existence of this clause which has been talked about a lot for a few weeks and to add a small spade towards Erling Haaland who did not join Real Madrid last summer, indicating that he already has everything he needs in his squad.
Not sure, however, that Florentino Pérez would spit on the signing of Erling Haaland at Real Madrid. With 15 Premier League goals for Manchester City already after just 10 outings in his new colors, the 22-year-old has established himself as the kind of galactic-like player Madrid may be looking for one day.
The striker became the first player to score three consecutive home Premier League hat-tricks, scoring in succession against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Man United. Considering that Madrid already possesses Karim Benzema, it's hard to contradict Perez's claim. There's no doubt that Haaland will also be looking to win the Ballon d'Or one day. He will be back in action against Brighton next weekend.
